[edit] Title grind

As much as I hate the grind aspect (repetitive playing) of Guild Wars, I do want to increase the power of my PvE skills, and the related PvE benefits. It seems that the most efficient way to get reputation points for the Eye of the North titles is to complete half of the Hero's Handbook (Hard Mode) by doing 3 missions and turn it in for 3000 reputation points. Or do 4 missions and get 4500 reputation points. The missions of choice for this "handbook grind" seem to be (tmakinen's notes included):

  • Against the Charr : use the southern bridge and ignore the optional objectives - navigate around patrols straight into the fort and clear it. Bring Aegis (PvE) and/or Defensive Anthem (PvE). (h/h suggestion: dual P/W with Defensive Anthem, Watch Yourself! and Shields Up!, minion bomber N/Mo, Zho, Herta, Mhenlo, Lina)
  • Curse of the Nornbear : very straightforward, especially after you remember the spawn places and take the shortest route. Mostly melee opponents. (h/h example: debuff N with Shadow of Fear and Enfeebling Blood, blindbot E, minion bomber N/Mo, Zho, Herta, Mhenlo, Lina)
  • G.O.L.E.M : if you have at least 2 real players this is an extremely easy mission. Make 2 self-sufficient teams of 4 and split to defend the kilns. Once the golems are ready, head to the hills and kill everything that moves. (h/h example: blindbot E, minion bomber N/Mo, healer Mo or N/Rt, Zho, Herta, Mhenlo, Lina)
  • A Time for Heroes: take enough defense/party wide healing to stay alive for 2-3 minutes, Pain Inverter takes care of the rest. (e.g. E/Mo with Heal Party, Extinguish, GoLE, Ward of Stability, Zho, Herta, Mhenlo, Lina; take "I Am Unstoppable!" and Pain Inverter)

[edit] Domain of Anguish notes

Well I've finally got through Domain of Anguish (Normal Mode) with my paragon, and defeated Mallyx, using a stable team of 3 ursans ([DOG] members: me+Val+Ras) with heroes.. It was as painful as expected, especially the cave in Gloom and of course Mallyx.. I am thinking that if I am to do it again, I would rather try a non-ursan build on my paragon, just to assist the monks and ursans in the team. I only have LB 6 on my paragon (oh, the grind! the horror!), but it seems it was enough for our mini ursan team, at least in NM.

I plan to use a Song of Purification build, something like this suggestion on the gwguru forums:

 SoP Para
Still not sure why I shouldn't go with a P/W and a typical "Save Yourselves!" (Luxon) build..
